Saturday, September 25th, 2010 was a day of hard work here in Santa Barbara County.
Over 1,700 energetic volunteers gathered at Page Youth Center for the 19th Annual Day
Of Caring kick-off breakfast, generously sponsored by Albertsons!

The room was pumped up with the sound, song and cheer of the Dos Pueblos High School
Drum Line, San Marcos High School Madrigals, and the Santa Barbara City College
Cheerleaders!  The volunteers were motivated and inspired by a special thank you
from Congresswoman Lois Capps, the entertaining Gary & Catherine of K-LITE, Randy
Weiss of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust and Janet Garufis of Montecito Bank and Trust.
The giant Page Youth Center was overflowing with energy as the eager volunteers marched their way off to their worksites.

Over 55 local jobsites stretching from Carpinteria to Santa Barbara, Goleta and
Santa Ynez received much-needed TLC and community support.  Teams from schools,
employers, churches, families and organizations contributed by painting, gardening,
cleaning, and even sorting jewelry. The organizations were thrilled with the response
from the community and have asked us to pass on very grateful and appreciative THANK
YOUS to those who participated!
