Venoco PlatformVenoco Increases Campaign by $4,000

Venoco has just finished their 2007 United Way campaign.  This year the company raised more than $40,000, a $4,000 increase over last year.

In addition to supporting United Way financially through the annual campaign, Venoco contributed $10,000 directly to United Way's Fun in the Sun program for the second consecutive year.  This brings Venoco's 2007 financial support for United Way over the $50,000 mark.

In addition to monetary support for United Way, Venoco employees spent an entire week this summer volunteering as part of Fun in the Sun's "Lunch Bunch" program at the new Fun in the Sun site in Carpinteria.

This year's campaign committee was led by Marybeth Carty and included Nicole Ling, Tony Soriano, Martha Saavedra, Laurie Styles, and Keri O'Connor.  This group arranged multiple presentations (including an off-shore presentation for employees on Platform Gail) and held a large raffle for anybody pledging more than $100 for the year.

United Way thanks this year's campaign committee and the rest of the staff at Venoco for their continued support!

Dupont PokerDuPont Displays Runs Their Largest Local Campaign Ever

The DuPont Displays campaign has just concluded and the company raised more than $20,000 for United Way this year.  This marks the highest campaign total ever for DuPont's Santa Barbara sites.

During this year's employee drive the campaign committee held special events to make the campaign more exciting for employees.  The company had "pledge card Fridays," where donors could drop off pledge forms and play Nintendo Wii or spin a prize wheel to win baked goods and United Way items.  The committee also organized a poker tournament with the winner and United Way splitting the proceeds.

In addition to running a successful campaign, DuPont employees volunteered to spend two days at Fun in the Sun's volunteer "Lunch Bunch" program this year.  The group of 20 employees who volunteered brought a guitar and good times to the children served last summer.

United Way thanks campaign committee members Janine Buseman-Williams, Dave Flattery, Judy Flattery, Tami Faircloth, Andy Johnson, Emma Woodthorpe, Sandy Russell, and Mary Tremel along with the rest of DuPont's employees, for another great year of volunteer and financial support!
